These are ordered alternatives, not interchangeable promises. A blocked option stays visible so evaluation access is never mistaken for deployability.
Primary path

Run AgentIDE locally

Available now
Support: PreviewDeclared access: PublicEffective access: Public

Start a durable local coding session, run the model-backed TUI, and distinguish it from the projection-only CLI, TUI, and browser surfaces.

Orientation time: about 10 minutes

Prerequisites

  • x86_64 Linux with cgroup v2 for confined process execution
  • A compatible model endpoint and API key for the model-backed TUI

Required artifacts

  • Agentide DocumentationDocumentation · Available · Public
  • Agentide SourceSource · Available · Public

The source is public, while a complete build currently requires approved access to the private Service SDK dependency.

  • Agentide Linux BinaryVersion 0.1.1 · Binary · Available · Public

Checksum-verified x86_64 Linux GNU release containing the JSON CLI, local browser workbench, projection-only TUI, and model-backed TUI.

Use hosted AgentIDE in DevCenter

Currently blocked
Support: PausedDeclared access: Approval RequiredEffective access: Approval Required

Enter an authenticated DevCenter workspace whose hosted AgentIDE realization is supplied by an approved environment.

Orientation time: about 10 minutes

Required artifacts

  • Agentide DocumentationDocumentation · Available · Public
  • Agentide Hosted ServiceHosted Service · Unpublished · Approval Required

The DevCenter-hosted realization is a paused preview with no public self-service endpoint.

Why this cannot be started

Support status is paused. Required artifacts are not available: agentide-hosted-service (unpublished).

This path is paused: the hosted realization is unpublished and has no public self-service endpoint.

Alternative path

Review Devcenter without credentials

Available now
Support: PreviewDeclared access: PublicEffective access: Public

Run or inspect the credential-free frontend review and understand its license and production-access boundaries.

Orientation time: about 10 minutes

Prerequisites

  • Node.js and pnpm to run the credential-free frontend review locally

Required artifacts

  • Devcenter DocsDocumentation · Available · Public
  • Devcenter SourceSource · Available · Public

Public source for evaluation under PolyForm Free Trial 1.0.0: less than 32 consecutive calendar days for one application.

The public source is licensed for a trial of less than 32 consecutive calendar days for one application. It does not grant production use or image access.

Build the full Devcenter service from source

Access required
Support: PreviewDeclared access: Approval RequiredEffective access: Approval Required

Build and run the full service container locally after obtaining access to every private build dependency.

Orientation time: about 30 minutes

Prerequisites

  • Docker
  • Approved GitHub access to the private sibling dependencies

Required artifacts

  • Devcenter DocsDocumentation · Available · Public
  • Devcenter SourceSource · Available · Public

  • Devcenter Private Build DependenciesPackage · Available · Approval Required

A full service source build requires approved access to private sibling Rust dependencies.

This is an approved evaluation path, not a public binary distribution or a production-use grant.

Review access requirements

01 · Learn

Choose the AgentIDE realization you can actually access

Understand the boundary and prerequisites before running commands.
  1. Compare the typed running modes

Start with the ESS-derived mode table so local interaction, attachment, support, artifacts, and hosted availability stay distinct.

    Complete when

You can explain which four modes are in the local binary and why hosted DevCenter is a separate, paused realization.

02 · Do

Run the public local path

Follow the technical instructions in the repository that owns them.
  1. Verify and start the released Linux binary

Follow the source-owned checksum, session, model endpoint, and credential instructions for the recommended model-backed local TUI.

    Complete when

The 0.1.1 archive verifies, a local session starts, and the TUI opens against the model endpoint without journaling the credential.

03 · Verify

Preserve the runtime and access boundaries

Check an observable outcome before treating the experience as complete.
  1. Check confinement and hosted availability

Confirm the Linux cgroup v2 requirement, private source-build dependency, and lack of a public hosted endpoint before planning adoption.

    Complete when

Your evaluation notes distinguish the available local binary from approval-required source builds and the unpublished hosted service.
